Maria Luisa Cortez

Maria Luisa Cortez was called home to be with the Lord, on March 17, 2016 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bernardo Mata Cortez; her parents, Martina Gomez and Mariano Ramirez; Siblings, Jesse Ramirez, Epifanio Ramirez, Juanita Rocha, Roberta Ramirez and Sylvia Rangel. Maria is survived by her loving children, Janie Lozano (Domingo), Gloria Contreras, Rudolfo Cortez (Maria Estela), Albert Cortez (Brigida), Florinda Loera (Johnny) and Guadalupe Perez; Siblings, Maria Ramirez, Antonia Longoria and Micaela Ramirez. Maria is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 46 great-great grandchildren. Maria enjoyed shopping, Bingo, coloring, and chocolate ice cream. She will be truly missed by family and friends. The Visitation will begin on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home Thursday, March 24 2016 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on 747 SW 39th St. with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
