A loving, selfless and giving person, she devoted her life to her family, friends and students. Marianne was a 6th grade special education teacher at Jackson Middle School. The school became her extended family; she always kept her students and fellow teachers close to her heart.
She created many strong friendships through her life experiences at home, school and even at her favorite bingo hall. Marianne had a gift for bringing people together. She believed that every student, no matter how underprivileged, had the potential to realize their dreams. Having an open mind and heart, she saw the potential in everyone, especially children.
She was also an animal lover, finding great joy in rescuing them. We will all miss that sense of humor and creativity she shared with everyone.
Marianne was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher and best friend.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Teodors Ozolins.
Marianne is survived by her beloved husband, Andris Ozolins; sons, Erik, Kevin and Andrew; parents, George and Gertrud Gromke; brother, George D.
