Please know that all of the family is in my prayers. I had not heard the news until today. I remember Marie as a very sweet, gentle person in the short time I knew her. She accompanied the Senior Choir at the same time that I was a brand new pianist for the church. I was young and inexperienced, but she was always smiling and encouraging to me. I know she will be missed by all who loved her.

I never knew if I should call her Ms. Loomis or Marie. On one hand, she was a dear friend that I got to visit with weekly as she taught my son piano. On the other hand, I had the utmost respect for her wisdom, knowledge and life experiences. Marie did the unimaginable with my hearing-impaired son. She taught him how to play the piano. And did so in the most amazing and patient way. Zachary will never forget Ms. Loomis and my family is forever indebted to her for her love and support she provided Zachary over the past year. We already fill the void in our weekly Wednesday night lessons and visits with Marie and Coda. Though it's hard to say goodbye, I was reassured in the confidence of Marie's and her family's faith over the past few weeks. May the family continue to feel God's presence during this time of loss. I am so sad to learn of your mother's passing. I just learned about it today. Such a sweet, sweet spirit. She was a master teacher, and I depended on her expertise often while she was teaching at Eisenhower. She was an encourager to me after she retired. I know you are missing her.

A nice lady and gentle woman. She was my sister-in-law. She loved her music and teaching kids. She and Don had a lovely family and grandchildren. I know she will be missed by her family. May God rest her soul. She is at peace now.

Marie Pauline was my favorite cousin. I can still recall the fun we had as children playing at Terry Court and then the socializing when we had our young families. Gertie was immediately comfortable with her. I relished our visits whenever we were in San Antonio - we had very similar views on a lot of current issues. But she had the sense of humor -- I can hear her giggle. I was looking forward to spending more time in San Antonio in retirement and more frequent visits with her. Her knowledge and stories of the Wilke-Hesse family were captivating and priceless. But more than that, she was simply pleasant to be around. We are both very saddened by her untimely passing.

So sadden by the passing of Marie. She was a valued teaching colleague, and an exceptional editor. Without her patience and skill I would never have published my first book in 2009. But most of all, she was the dearest of friends. I will miss her deeply and honor her with my continued work with struggling students. 
My heartfelt condolences to her children and grandchildren. She spoke so fondly of you. I know she loved you all dearly. 
Upon learning of Marie's death, I spent the day working in the garden and reflecting on our many conversations. I knew that would make her smile. Joanne Billingsly

My sincere sympathy to Marie's children, grandchildren, and siblings. 
Marie was a distant cousin. I saw her often when she played the piano for the Beethoven Damenchor and at the SA Symphony.

Mrs. Loomis was a wonderful lady and will be truly missed. My son Justin learned so much about music while taking piano lessons for the past 5 years. We are very grateful for that. May God be with you and your family during this time of need. The Wood Family

I was so saddened to see that Marie had passed away...she was my piano teacher, but she gave me so much more than piano lessons. My life is richer from having known her.
