She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 ½ years, William T. Koch, M.D.
She is survived by her only child, Nancy Koch Lovell and husband, James L. Lovell, and three
grandchildren; Marie Lovell Allen and spouse, Brandon Allen; Matthew David Lovell,
and James Michael Lovell.
God graced her with two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Allen
and William Allen.
Marilyn was born in Escanaba, Michigan on December 5, 1923 to
Howard Russell Carlson, a Swedish immigrant, and Elisabeth Keeley. Her father became southwestern regional sales manager for International Harvester in 1936 and her family
moved to Dallas, Texas.
She graduated from Sunset High School and received a degree in
nursing at Baylor Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated first in her class and was
voted the most representative student.
It was at Baylor that she first met her husband and
lifetime sweetheart, William T. Koch, M.D.
Marilyn was a beautiful person known for
her love of Christ, her wonderful sense of humor, her gift of mercy, and love of music
