He was born in Laredo, Texas on September 23, 1944.
He served in the United States Air Force as an Electronics Specialist.
He was very proud of his military career and to have served as a Vietnam veteran.
Mario was preceded in death by his adoring mother, Maria Inez Gutierrez, and his supportive father, Mariano Gutierrez.
He is survived by four caring sons, Carlos, Joe, Michael and Eric Gutierrez.
In addition, he leaves his brother, Hector Gutierrez; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Al and Josie Perez; and James and Celia Boriack; nephews, Robert and Joseph Efurd; grandsons, Carlos Jr., and Steve Gutierrez; cousins, Ina, Olga, Francisco, Fausto, Sylvia Molina; Maria Victoria, Juan, and Oscar Rodriguez of Laredo.
Archbishop Jose Gomez celebrated the Holy Mass at St. Paul's Catholic Church, on Wednesday, April 27th.
Mario, who was known for his kindness and helpfulness, will be missed by all who knew him.
