He was preceded in death by his wife, Theeora L. Pitt. He is survived by his brother, Stephen Pitt; son, Don J. Pitt and his wife, Theresa; Grandson, Sean J. Pitt, his wife, Dani and Step-Children.
His military career began as an NCO with the Michigan National Guard, leading into acceptance and graduation from the 1st OCS in WWII and tours of duty that included, Puerto Rico, Washington D.C., Ft. Knox, KY, San Antonio (2), Okinawa, El Paso, Orleans, France, Augsburg, Germany, Ft. Campbell, KY, and finally retiring in San Antonio.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on 5 December, 2013 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. The graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Full Military Honors at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
