Marissa Anne Guerrero, lovingly known as Mari, passed away surrounded by her family on July 13, 2025, leaving behind a deep emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Born on June 26, 1972, to Ernestine Guerrero and Ernesto Roberto Guerrero, Mari was a radiant force of love, laughter, and loyalty—a woman whose strength and compassion could quiet storms, and whose smile could light the darkest rooms.
Mari’s greatest pride and purpose lived in her two daughters: Adriana Nicole Cortez (Stephanie) and Anjelica Renee Ayala (Collin). She raised them with fierce love, endless patience, and a wisdom that only comes from a soul who understood both the weight and beauty of life. To her granddaughters, Scarlett Josephine Ayala and Eliana Helena Cortez, Mari was not just “Grandma”—she was home, warmth, and magic. Her presence will echo in their hearts forever.
She is also survived by her siblings: Monica Elaine Guerrero (Janet), Ernesto Roberto Guerrero Jr., and Margo Guerrero Garza (Steve); and by her soul-sister Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia (Neil), who stood beside her not by blood but by bond—a reminder that family is often chosen too.
Mari’s love extended deeply to her nieces and nephews: Juliana Guerrero, Edward Guerrero, Isabella Guerrero, and Devin Ian Guerrero, each of whom she cherished and loved in her own unforgettable way.
Mari had a rare ability to make everyone feel seen and loved. She was the first to show up, the last to leave—the one who remembered your favorite things and reminded you of your worth when you forgot. Whether it was her protective nature, her witty sense of humor, or the way she carried everyone’s pain as if it were her own, Mari left a mark on every life she touched.
To say she will be missed doesn’t come close. She leaves behind not just a grieving family, but an entire community who loved her—a community who gathered in her honor, shared stories, cried together, and laughed through the tears. That love, that turnout, wasn’t just for her; it was because of her.
Mari’s legacy is stitched into the hearts of her daughters, the joy of her granddaughters, and the lives of every person she uplifted. And though our hearts are heavy, we carry her forward in every act of kindness, every loud laugh, every quiet moment of care.
Rest peacefully, Mari. Thank you for everything. We will never stop loving you—because we love you, por vida.
