

Maritza's memory will be cherished by those she has left behind. Her husband of 65 years Amador Castillo Jr.; son Bill Rodriguez, his wife Gaby Rodriguez, grandchildren, Stephanie, Michelle and Alex and great grandchildren Adrian, Emmit, Karla, Savannah and Karissa; son John Castillo, his wife Wendy Castillo and grandchildren Johnathan and Anthony; daughter Sue De Lopez, her husband Jose Luis Lopez and grandchildren Andrea and Fernando; son Sam Castillo, his wife Brae Castillo and grandchildren Sammy and Colton; and Maritza's siblings Lola Prieto, Margarita Rojas, and Alvaro Rojas. Maritza is greeted in Heaven and predeceased by her son Daniel Castillo, sister Graziela Perez and her parents Antonio Rojas and Margarita Rojas.
Maritza achieved one of the highest ranks in the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, whose mission is to provide seekers with the spiritual wisdom necessary to experience their connectedness with the miraculous world around us.
Maritza will be remembered as a devoted wife, sharing a beautiful 65 year marriage filled with love and companionship with her husband Amador. She'll be remembered for her boundless love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her kindness to all she met, and her readiness to help anyone in need, which left an indelible mark on those around her. She was a beloved friend, known for her caring spirit, guidance, compassion,and the ability to listen with a patient heart. She embraced life’s joys—celebrating with friends, traveling, listening to boleros and mariachis, and most importantly, finding daily solace in reading her Bible and nurturing her closeness to God.
Her remarkable inner strength carried her through many health challenges, yet she faced each with resilience and unwavering optimism, living life to the fullest without surrender. Her positive spirit, joyful nature, effortless elegance, and steady calm blessed us all; she rarely expressed anger and was a source of unconditional love. Her gentle presence and the love she shared remain forever in our hearts, a legacy of strength, faith, and kindness that endures in each of us.
The Castillo Family will receive guests for Maritza on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas 78232, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
