Marjorie Teresa Rodriguez

With a lot of sorrow. I do give notice to all of you, that my beautiful and lovely wife: Marjorie Teresa Rodriguez-Vargas, passed away this morning at 7:30 AM, after 6 months of brave fight for her life at 3 different hospitals and one skill nurse rehabilitation institution. Thanks God she died in her bedroom at her house which love so much. She was a great lady, a very special and compassionate Mother of four sons, and Grandmother of three granddaughters and two grandsons. She was my incredible Wife for almost 58 years.

Mi adorable wife, best friend and companion, I will miss you so much. You will always be in my memory, with your beautiful face and your sweet smile. I am asking God to grant me the joy to be with you soon... God will take care of you, and soon me too again!

If you ever had the pleasure to meet her, please remember her and she will be always in our hearts.

Margie was a great lady with a big hearth and a permanent sweet smile, ready to help anyone in need of kindness, specially to assist her sons: Gilberto Jr, Luis Carlos, Ricardo Walter and Jorge Alberto. She was born in Costa Rica, and educated at the University of Costa Rica, where she obtained a degree in Pedagogy, to teach primary Education. She got a Scholarship to learn English Language at a College in the state of Missouri, USA. Then she moved to Washington, D.C were her sister Mayra joint her also to study English Language. They study and work together at the same time.

We met each other when we were students in Washington, D. C. we dated for about a year and then we married on April 22, 1961 at San Patrick Church in a nice ceremony organized by our friends and professors.

After de Honeymoon we traveled to Mexico, first to Monterrey and then to the state of Jalisco where we stayed until 1964. Later to Durango state and in 1965 to the Santa Eulalia mines in the state of Chihuahua.

As a Geologist in the mining industry, I was full of happiness forming a family always with Margie on my side. After a short period of time in the state of Sonora, we came back to state of Chihuahua with a different Mining Co, from which I retired in 1975.

Then I became a Consultant Geologist and purchased a great ranch in the state of Chihuahua,

Since our first born, Margie dedicated her time in full to our sons. Good health for her family and better education for our sons, were her main issues. Colegio Lassalle, Montessori, Technologic de Monterrey, Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Texas Tech University, University of Texas, etc. were some institutions selected for Margie, for our children education.

In Mexico she attended the University of Chihuahua to continue her studies on Art. She was an excellent artist. Some of her paintings were exhibited in Washington. D. C. At the same time, she always found a space for taking care of herself, being a good sport lady.

In 1982 me moved to El Paso. Tx then to San Antonio in 1995. Once our children were one at High School and the other three at College, she decides to get her Teacher Certification at the UTEP. She was teaching first in El Paso, TX, then in San Antonio, TX. Margie was an admired teacher by her students and their parents, and distinguished as a Great Bilingual Teacher as well.

Margie was very happy in this country, especially in her house in Castle Hills, which she loved some much and where she passed away in Nov. 30, 2018. God please take good care of her. Rest on peace my dear wife. I will see you soon Viejita Linda.

Con mucha tristeza les comunico que hoy a las 7:30 AM mi Linda Esposa Marjorie Teresa Rodríguez-Vargas, dejo de existir, después de 6 meses de lucha por vivir en 3 diferentes hospitales y en una institución para rehabilitación. Gracias a Dios murió en la recamara de su casa que tanto quería. Fue una gran Mujer, Madre ejemplar de 4 hijos y abuela de 3 nietas y 2 nietos. Fue Mi bella amada esposa por casi 58 años.

"Mi adorada amiga y compañera te extrañare mucho por lo que me queda de vida, extraño tu bondad, tu bellísima cara y tu dulce y permite sonrisa. Pido a Dios que me concede la dicha de muy pronto estar contigo nuevamente, para cuidarte y seguir amándote".

Horas antes de su fallecimiento menciono que lo que más deseaba en el mundo, era ver que sus cuatro hijos y cinco nietos viviesen felices y en complete armonía entre ellos. Todos ustedes que la conocieron. por favor recuérdenla, que mientras este en sus pensamientos, ella seguirá con vida en nuestros corazones.

Margie fue una gran dama, con un gran corazón del que brotaba en todo momento amor y bondad, acompañada siempre de una dulce y permanente sonrisa para quien necesitase de su apoyo, especialmente de sus 4 hijos Gilberto Jr, Luis Carlos, Ricardo Alberto y Jorge Alberto, y para alegría también de su esposo que ahora escribe estas notas con el corazón partido.

Originaria de Costa Rica, se educó en la Universidad de Costa Rica de donde recibió su título de Pedagogía, como profesora para Educación Primaria. Le fue otorgada una beca para un Colegio en el estado de Missouri, USA, para aprender inglés. Mas tarde se mudó a Washington en donde se le unió su hermana Mayra. Ambas trabajaron en diferentes instituciones y continuaron sus estudios en Washington, D.C.

Cuando estudiante de postgrado en Washington conocí a Marjorie en el verano de 1960. Después de un bonito noviazgo, nos casamos el 22 de abril de 1961, en una linda ceremonia organizada por nuestros profesores en la Iglesia de San Patricio en Washington D.C.

Poco después nos trasladamos a México, primero hacia Monterrey y a el estado de Jalisco donde permanecimos hasta 1964, después al estado de Durango y posteriormente al mineral de Santa Eulalia en el estado de Chihuahua en 1965.

Yo trabajaba como Geólogo en la industria minera, feliz empezando una familia con Marjorie siempre a mi lado. Después de un corto periodo en el estado de Sonora regresamos a Chihuahua con diferente compañía minera de donde me retire en 1975. Entonces me convertí en Geólogo Consultor y adquirimos un bonito rancho hacia la Sierra en el estado de Chihuahua.

Mientras tanto Margie se dedicó por entero a cuidar a nuestros hijos, vigilando por la salud y la mejor educación para ellos. Escuelas como el Colegio Lasalle, Montessori, Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, Georgetown Universito en Washington D.C., Texas Techo Universito, Universito o Texas, etc. fueron algunos de las instituciones educativas seleccionadas por Margie para la preparación de nuestros cuatro hijos.

En México Margie asistió a la Universidad de Chihuahua para mejorar sus habilidades en el arte de la pintura. Fue una magnifica pintora y algunos de sus cuadros se exhibieron en Washington, D. C. También nunca descuido su bella figura, pues fue una active deportista.

En 1982 nos mudamos a El Paso Texas y después en 1995 a San Antonio, Texas. Una vez con sus cuatro hijos estudiando en diferentes Universidades, Margie obtuvo su Certificación de Profesora en la Universidad de Texas. Primero enseno en El Paso, TX y luego en San Antonio hasta 2008. Fue admirada y querida por sus estudiantes y Padres de familia, y También fue distinguida como excelente Profesora Bilingüe.

Margie se sintió tranquila, segura y feliz en este país, especialmente en su casa de Castle Hills, que tanto amo, hasta que paso a mejor vida este Nov. 27 de 2018. Que Dios me la cuide y que descanse en paz. Pronto nos veremos mi viejita linda.
