

Born on Tuesday, February 6, 1951, in Corpus Christi Texas to Joe and Margie Stephens. He passed away Friday February 18, 2022. Mark grew up Corpus Christi, the oldest brother of three, he graduated from Ray High School class of 1969.
He worked at several local garages and auto parts stores which fed his hobby of rebuilding and racing hot rods, especially his favorite the 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air. Not too long after high school, he packed up his car with clothes and a television set and relocated to Baytown. A job boom offered opportunities of a career with security, and he found himself a job managing and leasing gas and oil parts. Riding out trades and buyouts in the ever-changing oil and gas industry, he found himself once again relocated. This time to the Dallas Area where he committed to and investment plan that would afford him early retirement at the age of 50. Then, in 2001, newly retired he made his final big move, settling near San Antonio brought him closer to his aging parents, his brothers, and his son.
Becoming restless at home, he took a part time job working for Keith Zars Pools but a few short years later he accepted a position back to the familiar role leasing gas and oil parts. He again retired from Great Texas Compressions in February of 2021. In 2001, Mark met Tina Hawley-Stephens and with a growing family ahead, they were married on August 29, 2005. They enjoyed their time together frequenting wineries, Music Halls, dancing, playing the violin, watching Nascar, and hosting family barbeques. They even managed frequent trips to West Texas, Utah, Las Vegas, Oklahoma, St. Louis, Georgia, and Florida. Usually, to be with the grandchildren.
He was survived by his wife Tina Hawley-Stephens, his son Jason Stephens (C.C.-TX,) his four stepchildren, Christopher (Hawley) Williams (Ohio,) Cari Lynn and husband Jose Torrez (New Braunfels,) Jaimie and husband Tarrance Burton (Schertz,) and Randall Brown (Bulverde,) and his nine grandchildren. Also, survived by brothers Kevin and wife Karen Stephens (Spring Branch) and Jeff Stephens (Austin.) As well as his niece Kendra and husband Dan Orth and nephew Drew and wife Ticer Stephens (Austin,) his great niece Camille and great nephew Clark Orth (San Antonio).
He will be remembered by Jasons mother Rhonda and Husband Dennis Mott (Corpus Christi,) Diane Holland, Tommie and Jerry Walters. After Passing, Mark has been reunited with his parents Joe and Margie Stephens, sister in law Margaret Stephens, his brother in law Timothy Hawley, his grandparents, aunts and uncles along with lifelong family friends Sammy Holland, Kenny Chandler and Mike Burrows.
Services will be private. Mark will be interned with his parents in Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi after Cremation.
