Martha Wiggins Bailey

Martha Wiggins Bailey, age 96 of San Antonio, died Monday, April 2, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Grace Wiggins; husband, Travis D. Bailey; sons: John R. Bailey and Travis D. Bailey, Jr. and her sister, Annie Pearl Johnston.

She is survived by her daughter, Marty Bailey Groos and husband, Ricky; granddaughters: Gretchen Groos and Lieschen Groos Gray and husband, Steve; great-grandson, Travis Bailey McEldowney, all of San Antonio.

Martha (Mimi) graduated from Jefferson High School and the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She was a member of the Junior League of San Antonio, the Battle of Flowers Association, San Antonio Country Club and the Argyle. In 1954, she was Mistress of the Robes for the Order of the Alamo Coronation.

Mimi will be remembered for her love of life and her enthusiasm. The family extends their gratitude to her caregivers Dorothy, Denise, Linda and Sandra for their sincere kindness toward Mimi.
