Martha Jean was born on May 30, 1930 in San Antonio, the daughter of the late Erwin and Lois Loessberg. She met the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Constanzo at South San High School. They graduated and went on to attend Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas. They were married in 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church and spent 72 wonderful years raising 3 sons and a daughter. She taught kindergarten in Castroville and was an assistant coach for girls athletics at South San High School.
Her most loved profession was her husband, children and grandchildren. She was dedicated to her family; she unconditionally loved and supported all of her family. Marty was a devout Christian and the spiritual leader of the family. She was committed to weekly family church attendance and was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She did not miss any event involving one of her 4 children and attended as many as possible of the grandchildren's events. She loved sitting on the porch at her home or at their beach house watching and feeding birds; especially the humming birds. She played bunco with lifelong friends throughout her married life. They called the group, “Little Old Ladies in Tennis Shoes.” Marty loved to travel and go on family vacations. The fondest of her traveling memories and adventures was celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary on a Caribbean Cruise with Tony, her children with their spouses and all the grandchildren.
We will miss her kind and gentle soul; she will be remembered for her loving and joyful spirit, warm smile and her childlike love of life.
We are forever grateful for the exceptional care provided by all the care providers especially Patricia Barnes and Deborah Aguilar who supported Martha with extra love and care each and every day. We also appreciate the wonderful support of the San Antonio Firefighters Station 46 and the support of the Hospice company, Embrace, specifically Vanessa, Tracy and Blake. They brought much comfort to the family.
