Mary Sharp Aparisi

Mary Sharp Aparisi 1944-2025 Mary Sharp Aparisi, age 80, died on June 7, 2025 at 8527 Morning Grove Drive, in Converse, Texas. Mary was born on September 19, 1944 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She grew up in many different locations because her father, Thomas M.B. Hicks III had made a career serving in the military. Mary lived in several places in the United States as well as Japan and Panama. Mary graduated from North Western University in Evanston, Illinois with a degree in Spanish language and Education in 1966 and then earned her master's degree at Indiana University. Mary taught for the Montgomery County School District in Maryland for 30 years specializing in English language for foreign students. In 1995, Mary moved to San Antonio and in 2005 to Converse, Texas. Mary's parents, Thomas M. B. Hicks III and Eleanor Murray as well as her brother, Thomas M. B. Hicks IV and husband, Frank Aparisi predeceased her. Mary is survived by her sisters, Barbara Wilke and Lois Hicks Wozniak, and nieces, Lisa Ann Wilke, Hannah and Zoe Teitelbaum, and Jennifer Bright. Mary is also survived by her nephews,, Samuel and Johusa Wozniak, Thomas Radcliff Hicks and Andrew Hicks. There are also grandnephews and grandnieces, Mason Hicks, Collin Hicks, Corrinne Hicks, Parker Hicks, Campbell Bright, Christopher Bright, and Eleanor Bright.. Mary is the published author of two children's books "Sam vs. the Bullies" and "Mix It Up Lord". Mary was a very talented illustrator and "Mix It Up Lord" features her art work. Mary lived a life filled with joy as a teacher and writer. She traveled in addition to her earlier trips as a child to Japan and Panama, and revisited her brother in Japan, to Bermuda, Jamaica and Mexico, etc. Mary was well regarded especially by her neighbors at 7460 Kitty Hawk in Converse, Texas and her family. She will be remembered. There will be a wake at Sunset Funeral Home 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TХ 78218-1784 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Thursday, June 12 there will be a grave side service commencing at 10:00 am.
