Mary Louise Bowman

Mary Louise Bowman, 88, of San Antonio, Texas, stepped into the presence of her Lord Jesus, Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Mary was born January 18, 1927 in Hartville, Ohio to Earl T. and Bertha Smith. Her husband of 50 years, John R. Bowman, predeceased her. Mary was the youngest of four siblings, who predeceased her – Glenn Smith, Kenneth Smith, Donald Smith, and Dorine Machamer. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lynn and Roger Higginbotham, Michael and Barbara Bowman, Nancy and Rico Sardelli, Debra and Charles Toy; grandchildren Chad Bowman, Angela Scott, Bryan Travers; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a stay-at-home Mom for her military family until her children were grown, then worked at Southwest Research Institute 16 years, retiring in 1991. Her family was her life and joy. Mary’s quiet, unassuming character and endless sense of humor will be sorely missed. A faithful wife, wonderful mother, loving friend - a true gift from God.

A quiet family graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 11th, 9:30am at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX. Memorial donations may be made to Christus VNA, 4241 Woodcock Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228 or charity of choice.
