Mary Martinez Bustos

Mary Martinez Bustos, age 94 of San Antonio, Tx, passed away 17 Jan 2021.She was born in Espada Mission Community on Nov 8th, 1926 to Jose Dolores & Isabel Martinez. She was married to Angel Sontoya Bustos for 62 years. Early in the 1950's she had a career as a Licensed Cosmetologist and later worked at St. Jude Catholic Church as Manager for the Senior Citizen Nutrition program in the church community center, where she directed/managed the daily meals and social interaction programs for 22 years. She was also the St Jude Spanish Choir director for 33 years... She was a member of the St. Jude Guadalupana society and of the Holy Name Women's Auxilary society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Angel S. Bustos; parents, Jose Dolores & Isabel Martinez, her sisters: Dolores Martinez, Leonor Munoz and Susie De La Cruz, and her brother Bruno Martinez.

She is survived by her daughters: Connie Barrera (Willie), and Dolores Bustos,

and her son Gerard Bustos; Grandchildren: Angela Marie Mercado (Keiji), Nicholas Bustos Gomez, Victoria Juanita Ritchie, Nicole B. Calvillo (Robert) and Joshua Barrera; Great Grandchildren: Justice Gomez, Ava Ritchie, Alexander Ritchie, Sekai Jose Mercado, Zoryan Miko Mercado, Kayoko Angel Mercado, Samuel and Eli Gomez. Her sisters: Fernanda Ramirez and Maria Guadalupe Garza and numerous neices & nephews who will greatly miss her.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, February 5 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with a Rosary to be recited at 9:00 AM. A Procession will depart at 10:00 AM and arrive at St. Jude Catholic Church,130 S. San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, TX 78237, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
