She was born September 11, 1917, in Jones County, Mississippi, to Jeff and Mary Collins.
Her husband joined the Royal Canadian Air Force before the United States entered World War II, subsequently transferring to the U.S. Army Air Forces after U.S. entry into the war. Thus began her itinerant existence so common to military families of that era and the years following.
She was an avid sportswoman, enjoying golf, fishing, and Bridge into her middle 80's. After her husband's retirement from the Air Force, Mickey enjoyed a very successful career of over 20 years as a realtor with the Guy Chipman Company. She was also a long time member of Churchill Baptist Church.
Mickey is survived by her daughter, Deborra Backlund, and husband, Michael of San Antonio; her son, Charles Hamilton Davis IV and wife, Barbara, of New Braunfels; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
