

Mary Pauline Dunlap Ecuyer was born to Dr. (Col.) Knox Dunlap and Pauline Shelton Dunlap on November 26, 1937. She grew up in an Army family. She attended Boston University and graduated as a Physical Therapist. She met and married the love of her life 2LT Richard Joseph Ecuyer at Ft. Dix, New Jersey.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Col. Richard Joseph Ecuyer. She is survived by her two daughters, Laura Ecuyer and Mary E. Ecuyer of San Antonio, her aunt, Edith Shelton McCandless of Lampasas, sister-in-law JoAnn Ecuyer McNeel and her husband Ted of New Orleans, and brother-in-law Larry Ecuyer and wife Linda of New Orleans, along with assorted nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was a member of San Antonio de Bexar Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Military Officers Association of America, and Retired Officers Wives and Widows, and was a former President of Ladies of the Ribbon.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23 from 11:30am to 12:30pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 12:30pm with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1pm at the church. She will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery Thursday, May 24 at 9:45am.
