I'm at a loss as what to say about mama not being with us. It's the void left behind that's so difficult to overcome. Mom created a wonderful island of unconditional love and security for all her children. It was so wonderful to spend time with her. Mama provided a place without fear, judgment, or dread. It was a wonderfully comfortable place that is so treasured right now. While I have a lot of sorrow at mom's dying, I'm also very happy that she's now in Heaven, where she'll spend eternity with our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I'm also happy as I reflect back on mom and her final weeks. She was happy, dancing at Ryan and Sarah's wedding in Telluride, CO. She didn't suffer, she lived independantly, for the most part she lived the life she chose, she lived her life without any regrets, she had no enemies, she went to Mass daily, and prayed the Rosary every evening, she was surrounded by her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and her brother and his family, she loved... oh how she loved. I loved her without condition. I have found personal comfort in this reading from 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18. 
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. 
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, so too will God, through Jesus, bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 
Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep. 
For the Lord himself, with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 
Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. 
Therefore, console one another with these words. There is comfort in knowing that mom is in a better place. As difficult as it is for us to grasp, she's happier now than she's ever been.

I really had no words to express at the celebration of M.M. life until now, She was a dear sister-in-law, thoughtful and caring, always thinking of others. I will miss her. Our Love to all the Gaenslen gang

I was deeply saddened to hear about Aunt Mary Margaret. Every time I saw her she always had a smile and kind words for everyone. My regret is that I moved from Texas many years ago and never had the opportunity to really get to know her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

 she provides food for her family

 and her lamp does not go out at night.

I was Mrs. Gaenslen's pharmacy technician for many years. In the 10 years I have been doing this job, Mrs. Gaenslen was my very favorite customer. She was a wonderful woman who always had a smile on her face. We bonded over Catholicism and she always asked me how my husband was even though she never met him. She meant a great deal to me and my deepest sympathy goes out to her family. She always spoke of her children and grandchildren with such pride. Mrs. Gaenslen wasn't just my customer, she was a dear friend. I will always remember her.

After so many years, it was very heartfelt to re-connect with my childhood friends, Gary and Gerald and their 'Big Sis' Joann. I truly enjoyed thinking about the fun times spent with them and their wonderful Mom, Mary Margaret, taking us shopping for food for Boy Scout campouts, or just 'hanging out' at their home. My Mom, Dorothea Lea, sends her thoughts and prayers to the family, as she truly loved Mary Margaret and enjoyed their years of friendship with her and George. I hope we can all stay in better contact with each other, as Mary Margaret was such a blessing in my life and theirs.

Dear Marian & family, 
In all the years I've known you, family has always been the foremost priority in your life. Rejoice in the beautiful legacy your mother has left behind in you and your siblings and extended families. Allow yourselves to grieve, and then revel in her eternal memory!

To all my Gaenslen cousins and relatives: It was so good to see all of you yesterday albeit it under difficult circumstances. Though we all have our busy lives and different directions, when we gather together, to me there is that strong bond that may seem invisible to one not within our family, but one that we know to be real and genuine. Mary Margaret was as sweet and classy as anyone could ever be and she lives in each of us and our offspring almost as though she was still here physically. I felt that way about my father when he passed away and given that we all must move on from this world, it is a source of some consolation that there is a deeply abiding presence of these parental giants still living in us every day of our lives. May Mary Margaret rest in peace but may her spirit live on in each and everyone of us who was so lucky to have known her! Love to you all, Tommy Adkisson P.S. Dear George, Joann, Gary, Gerald, & Marian, 
I was very deeply touched by you 5 and your families at the Mass this morning. I know Mary Margaret was looking down with pride at her precious children. She and Uncle George did a wonderful job raising you "kids." Your mom was always so sweet to the Adkissons. We remember her sincere interest and loving consideration of our family. She was always faithful corresponding with notes, cards, and emails. She made this teenage mom feel like Brian was almost one of her own grandsons, continually praising him in her ever gracious ways. Back then, it meant a lot to me to hear such nice things from my Aunt and to have her support in my new married life. She just was that type of person -- always saying things to make you feel good and always taking that special time with you. 
What an elegant, sweet, Christian lady she was! I see she has left a beautiful impression on each one of her children and grandchildren. 
I am so sorry for your loss.

I have two lasting memories of Mary Margaret. One, she was always the sweetest, kindest person. Two, she absolutely loved her family. Over the past couple of years we communicated through email. She always talked with such pride and love about her grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be missed and she will always be loved! Brian

We are so sad to hear of your mom's passing. She was such a sweet lady, and we enjoyed being her neighbor. We wish you all comfort and peace.

Mary Margaret was our neighbor for many years, and we came to love her as a friend. Oh, we will miss that wonderful smile, and that saucy way she had when we visited her. Mary was beautiful from within, and joy seemed to radiate from her no matter the circumstances. We say, "rest, now, dear one! We are better people because you touched our lives."

We will miss our dear friend and neighbor, Mary Margaret...such a loving, sweet little lady...so devoted to her faith and family...always quick with a smile and a wave. I admired her strength and independence, caring spirit, and beauty...inside and out. She went out of her way to greet any of us neighbors whether it be in the grocery store, at church, or strolling by her front yard. On those occasions, she made us all feel as if we were the most important people in her life. My husband and I are blessed to have known her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. May our dear Lord give them the strength they need to get through this trying time.
