Mary Ellen Keller

Mary Ellen Keller, age 92, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on August 19, 1930, in Wichita Falls, TX, to parents, Rowena D. Boyd and George Maxey Lutts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rowena and George Lutts; her husband, Gerald B. Keller; and her sister, June Frey. Mary is survived by her daughters, Karen West (Gary); and Janice Kramer (Billy); her grandchildren, Bryan Dempsey, Jamie Vaquera (Steve), Erin Dempsey (Julie Hall), Paul Kramer (Traci), Wade West (Cathy), Jody West (Misty), and Julie West; her 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; beloved nieces, Susan Mund, Carole Ryan, and Nancy Frey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Trinity University, where she met her beloved husband,Gerry Keller. Mary was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the life of the church, serving as a member and past President of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She served for many years as a volunteer Blue Bird at Methodist Hospital.

In addition to belonging to several lively Bunco clubs, Mary loved her gardening, attending Fiesta events, and family gatherings. She especially loved her chihuahuas, Cha-cha and Tina and her many beloved cats. Mary loved attending the Annual Keller-Neff family reunion and sharing good times and margaritas with her family.

Those who knew Mary experienced her warmth and grace. She had a way of making friends wherever she went. She was so loved by her family and numerous lifelong friends and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
