Mary Elizabeth Maziek

Mary Elizabeth Maziek, age 79, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on February 09, 1944 in Bellaire, Ohio to Betty June (Paul) and Joseph Peter Stemkowski. A graduate of St Clairsville High School, She married Robert Warren Maziek of Bellaire, Ohio in 1965. As an Army family they lived in several places but chose Texas as their permanent home.

Mary raised her two young sons on her own when her beloved Bob died at a young age. Raised on a dairy farm, she loved the outdoors, her pet dogs, tending to her vegetable garden, and cooking for her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed gatherings with friends and especially her bunco groups. Wherever she went you knew her beloved Ruby would soon follow. She was a tiny woman with a personality larger than life and a heart to match. She will be dearly missed but never far from our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Warren Maziek; and son, Joseph Christopher Maziek. Mary is survived by her son, Tony Maziek (Terrie); sisters, BettyAnne Bandfield (Russell); Frances Hartman; brother, Joseph Peter Stemkowski Jr.; niece, Janel Green (Matthew); nephew, David Bandfield; granddaughters, Cameron Rene Lee (Brandon) and Rylie Breanne Maziek.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Porter Loring Mortuary North with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
