

Mary Lee Volz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born on February 1, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to James Otis Hill and Rosemary Hill.
Mary Lee Volz lived in San Antonio all of her life. During the time she attended Thomas Jefferson High School, she met her husband of 62 years Frank Volz and married on January 31, 1951. Together they raised five wonderful children. The family loved hosting backyard BBQs and camping at Canyon Lake with close friends. In addition to cooking for social gatherings, Mary Lee enjoyed sewing and fishing. She befriended people anywhere she went and touched many lives with her thoughtful, kind, and loving nature. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church during which time she was active in the women’s ministry. As her children grew older, she worked various jobs outside of the home. Frank and Mary Lee lived a long, loving, and happy life together.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband Frank Kenneth Volz, daughter Carolyn Mitchell, parents James Otis Hill and Rosemary Hill, granddaughter Robin Dickerson, sister Jimmy Sue Pickett, and sons-in law Mike Mitchell, Keith Dickerson, Gary Haberer, and Hal Howser.
She is survived by her brother Charles Hill, daughters Darlene Howser and Susan Haberer, son Charles Volz and wife Melissa, son Roger Volz and wife Karen, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
