Today marks 4 years, seems like it was just yesterday.  Not a day, minute goes by that I have you on my mind. Some how it gets harder and harder to  realize you are not here. Love you forever, forever you'll be my baby forever.

I miss you, Matt. I think of you a lot and mourn the fact your time was so short. Your future taken away. But so proud and happy of what you had accomplished. You had friends who loved you. Family that adored you and most importantly you found your soulmate, that one person that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. You lived your life fully, but my heart still aches. 

I just want to say Matt that I love you and I'm going to miss you. You always made me laugh. You and I talking music. You opened my horizons with new music and created a soundtrack for life. I remember all of us staying at grandma's and grandpa's along with some of the trouble we caused. Of course there's the time you and I set their carpet on fire by accident just because we wanted to see how fast tissues caught fire.  Turns out pretty fast. I'll always keep you in my heart Matt. I love you.

From the first time I held Matthew in my arms, all 7lbs 14 oz., 20-1/2 inches, it was  love at first sight.  I knew I was going to love him forever.  His beautiful brown eyes, not just any brown eyes, you had to look right into them to see how beautiful and bright they were. How wonderful someone will use them to see, so like Matthew to help someone who needs it.  My Matthew was larger than life itself. He loved life, he loved people, he loved to make everyone laugh.  His sense of humor was so unusual, that it was all you could do was laugh. 
He never forgot a please or thank you.  Always wanted you to be the best you could be, encouraged you to do your best.
I know he didn't want us to hurt, this is why he brought all of you in attendance to offer your condolences and share a bit of Matthew to us all. I think he knew we would recognize he was present in each and every one of all present. That was Matthew's way telling us, " y'all are going to be ok."
I miss him everyday of every minute of every second.  I know momma Dawn is taking care of him and he is taking care of her.
Until we meet again, I love you more...mostest....my cup runneth over.

First and foremost,

My condolences to the entire Vargas family, all his loved ones and the very many special people in his life. He was larger than life, determined. Caring and thoughtful. Funny/Goofy. Just a wonderful person all around. I remember many conversations of sports, family, work, etc. I know he is truly missed and my heart is with everyone.

My fondest and actually, very first memory of Matt was our very first meeting. Rudy and Matt were hanging out at Matt’s house, playing FIFA on PS4. Joey and I were at Joey’s house, playing FIFA. In friendly spirit, Rudy wanted to challenge myself so we drove over to Matt’s so that we could all play. I ended up beating Rudy 10-1 and I remember Matt saying “You’re not good!” “You’re not allowed to play anymore.” Lol 😂  Straight to Rudy and we all started laughing for a while. After that, we all just hung out talking for the evening. 

All of my memories of him were great and we always had a blast when our paths crossed. I know him and Rudy are laughing together as I’m sharing this memory. 

Miss you Matt. We all do. Much love brother and say hi to Rudy for me. Love you both. 

I would first like to send my sincerest condolences to the Vargas Family. Robert, Patty, Jacob, Sarah, and Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. Matt was an incredible person who made an indelible imprint on all our lives. His wild sense of humor always kept us laughing, and his love and loyalty were things to be revered. I miss him dearly but will love him forever. Hundreds of fond memories come to mind when I think of all our time and experiences together. I love him so much. Please take this as a reminder that I am not going anywhere, and I will continue to support the family in whatever way is needed. I love you, Vargas Family, and I love you, my Matty. I'll see you again, old friend.

Matt was an honorary Galindo and sweet friend. He always knew how to bring a smile to the room and had the best catch phrases. The Gerkens send their sincerest condolences to the Vargas family. Matt is so missed, but his memory will live forever. We know he is partying with my mother, Dawn, until we get to see him again. "Don’t forget the sauce, boy."

My deepest condolences to the Vargas family.  Matthew was such a sweet, caring and funny young man.  It was great working alongside Matt because he made your day interesting with his jokes and listening to him tease with coworkers about certain sports teams. I know that he will be greatly missed by his Visionworks family and the memories he left in our hearts will stay with us for a lifetime. Rest In Peace Matthew. 

Please accept our warmest and deep heartfelt condolences. Matt was a kind and caring young man who was a friend to many. He helped many of his friends move from place to place many times and always had lots of smiles and jokes which made it fun. I thank God for his friendship with Joey. They met in high school and from the pictures I saw on Face Book, had lots of adventures and good times together with all their friends. All the hundreds of soccer games they played together made their friendship even closer. They will never be able to replace their beloved teammate. Matt will be truly missed and I know Joey will have a hole in his heart forever for his good friend.
We are praying God will giving all of you peace and joy knowing that one day you will be with him again in heaven.

Matt - I’ve tried to write this a few times, but I haven’t found the words to adequately express how I feel. While I wish we had taken the time to know each other a bit better, I did know you well enough to know you were a good one and that you adored my sister.  When I told Annie that you had gone to Heaven and were reunited with Stevie, she responded with “that makes me sad, he was a great man and taught me a lot of magic.” So keep sharing that magic with us from above, we will miss you always.

Dearest Robert, Patty, Jacob and Sarah my heartfelt condolences. I along with everyone else are just absolutely heartbroken on your unimaginable loss.  Matt was a wonderful handsome soul with a quick wit and sense of humor.  I remember as a kid he could always break the tension during a stressful game with that sense of humor.  We all have those wonderful cherished memories. I spoke to Matt a few months ago when George was ill and he was so concerned and wanted updates. He was such a caring loving soul and him being there meant so much.  Everyone he came across was better for knowing him.  My continued prayers for comfort and peace for all the family and friends.  I imagine Matt with that coy smile as he is welcomed into the kingdom of heaven with open arms.   Rest in Paradise Matthew 

Matt was  a good man and  a great human being.  It was never a dull moment. I can not  even count the times that  Matt and I shared a great laugh together at work. He was a huge jokester and we always came up with funny conversations. Matt and I would talk about sports or just about anything that came to mind. Matt was a great friend and co-worker and will be missed. Rest in Peace brother. You will be missed. Here is an inside joke that Matt and I and couple of coworkers would understand.
