Maudie Dunaway

It is with great sadness that the family of Maudie Margaret Dunaway announces her passing on January 9, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 87. She was born on October 29, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas to Luther and Emma Adams.

Maudie will be lovingly remembered by all her children: Samuel Walter, Jr. (Kathy), Michael Paul (Rona), Cynthia Ann (Ernest) Garza, and David Wayne (Debbie). She will also be affectionately remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Grammy". She is also survived by her sister, Edith Davis and her brother, David Adams.

Maudie spent 40+ years working for CVS and she loved interacting with her customers. Her greatest passion in her life was her family and the joy they would bring her. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones and warmly remembered.

Maudie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Walter Dunaway, her daughters, Lynda Rae Nichols and Joan Elizabeth Dunaway, and grandchildren, Samuel Melvin Dunaway and Timothy William Dunaway.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 9 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
