Melania Alemany

Born on January 15 1930. Married to Santos Alemañy-Ramirez, August 24, 1956. She became widowed June 24 1979. He was her only love.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santos, and toddler daughter, Lourdes. Her parents, Geraldo Carrion and Antonia Maldonado. Her Sisters, Luz Maria, Conchita, Justina, Olga and brother Juan. Her nephew and Godson, Geraldo who passed just 2 days later.

She is survived by her daughter, Melynda (Walter) and sons Edgardo (Rosemary) and Noel (Lourdes). Grandchildren, Mariel, Lourdes, Melany, Wally, and great granddaughters, Emily, Alicia, Sofia and Xenalia. Sister Hilda and brother Luis. And the many nieces and nephews.

She was of strong character and was just as generous, loving and giving. A woman of solid faith. She was genuine, honest and real and never thought twice about letting anyone know how she thought about them, good… or bad. She loved to sew and cook. Sadly, the last few years of her life, dementia had taken away a lot of her outer joys, but still in her heart she had the inner joy of our Lord. Prayer remained an important part of her life.

Her remains will be cremated.

Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Helotes, Texas on Jan 8 2026 at 11:00 am, Rosary at 10:30am.

Burial will take place at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery, Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
