Melvin Darrel Hagen, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on October 6, 1942, in Kalispell, Montana to parents, Birdie Reeser and Earl Hagen. He grew up in Shelby, Montana and after graduating from high school, joined the Air Force, where he was stationed at locations including Alaska and Nebraska. He married Odilia Spanier in 1969 and they had two children, Nancy, and Tom. He worked for several computer companies and banks, including Sperry Univac, Unisys, World Savings, and Wells Fargo Bank. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and family, and building and flying radio-controlled planes.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl, and Birdie, two brothers, Dennis and Kenneth and his wife, Odilia.
Melvin is survived by his son, Tom Hagen and daughter, Nancy Hagen, his sister, Karen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
