Mercy Devora, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 84, surrounded by her devoted family. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and kindness, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mercy was born on April 29, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, to her parents, Ben and Mary. She was one of nine siblings and was preceded in death by eight of them. Growing up in a large family shaped her nurturing spirit and strong sense of devotion to those she loved.
She met the love of her life, Alexander M. Devora Sr., at a dance in Denver, and the two were married on July 7, 1962. Together, they built a life centered on family and unwavering support for one another.
Mercy dedicated herself fully to raising her three children—Sandra, Alex Jr., and David—providing them with love, guidance, and a strong foundation. Later in life, she discovered a passion for entrepreneurship, finding joy in sales at the Mission Flea Market and Bussey’s Flea Market.
Her greatest joy came with the arrival of her grandchildren—Alexander Jordan, Analina, Joshua, and Joslyn. Known affectionately as “Grandma Tu-Tu,” Mercy embraced this role with a rejuvenated spirit, helping raise her grandchildren and surrounding them with the same warmth and love she gave her own children.
Mercy lived a full and meaningful life, touching countless people with her gentle nature and kind heart. She was known for her sweetness and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Mercy is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mary Romero; siblings, John, Roman, Frankie, Fred, Louie, Mike, and Cecelia.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Alexander Devora; children, Alexander Jr, and wife Barbara; David and wife, Angela; Sandra, and husband, Mandee; grandchildren, Alexander Jordan, Analina, Joshua, and Joslyn; and sister, Lorraine Martinez.
