

Merrilyn Ruth Rose (Ernst), formerly of Mountain Home, Idaho passed away peacefully on April 2, 2018 at the age of 68. Born to Merrill and Mildred (Kreisle) Ernst on March 31, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. Merrilyn’s beautiful soul, caring and loving personality will be missed by so many whose life she touched. Merrilyn graduated from Marine City High School in 1968 and from Oakland University in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Literature. In 1979, she married Christopher Dennis Rose of Fairhaven, Michigan. Later that year, she welcomed her only child, Jennifer Noel Rogers (Rose). Merrilyn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998. Prior to her arduo us battle with Multiple Sclerosis, she loved to read, sew, craft, travel, and sing. Although her condition left her bedbound, Merrilyn was a rock for all those around her. Merrilyn enjoyed spending time with her two grandson’s, her family, and friends.
Merrilyn is survived by Christopher, her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Kenneth, grandson’s Parker and Logan, brother Charles, sister Barbara, and beloved dog Rudy. A private viewing will be held on April 6, 2018, 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas. A ceremony to honor Merrilyn’s life will be held later this summer in Michigan.
