

Miguel "Mickey" Colorado Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, in San Antonio, TX, at the age of 74. Born on July 28, 1949, in El Paso, TX, Mickey lived a life marked by service, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his loved ones.
Mickey was the beloved husband of Olga Colorado, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring marriage for 50 years. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Jackie Colorado, Andrea Sotelo and her husband Matt Sotelo, and Stephanie Colorado. Mickey's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Marissa, Eliana, Anthony, Zayde, and Eleni, who will cherish the memory of their funny and generous grandfather.
He is also survived by his caring siblings, Tere Nunez, Estella Contreras, Beatriz Torrez Colorado, Margie Seawell, Richard Colorado, Ernie Colorado, and Albert Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Refugio and Miguel Colorado, and his siblings Angie Brown, Carmen Hernandez, Consuelo Ayala, Jorge Colorado, Benny Colorado, Luis Colorado and Hector Colorado.
Mickey graduated from Bowie High School in 1967 and went on to receive his associate degree from El Paso Community College. His dedication to his country was evident through his service as a veteran of the Army and National Guard. Mickey's career in Civil Service at Goodfellow Air Force Base was marked by commitment and excellence until his retirement.
Throughout his life, Mickey was known for his sense of humor, often bringing laughter and lightness to any situation. He was selfless in his actions, always putting the needs of others before his own. He was an elder at Nazareth Presbyterian Church in San Angelo, TX and a contributor to the DAV organization, which supports disabled veterans.
His amazing caretakers, Megan De Los Santos and Keera Ficken, provided unwavering support and care during his final days, for which his family is eternally grateful. Their dedication to his comfort and well-being allowed Mickey to spend his last moments surrounded by love and peace.
The family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
