angel on earth left her loved ones for her place in heaven. Our beloved and cherished Aunt Mildred,
affectionately called Mimmie, bestowed all her motherly love upon all her nieces and nephews and
was a kind and loving friend to all who knew her. She loved receiving family and friend's photos and
proudly displayed them all. To her, everyone was family. Mildred was a woman of deep faith and
read her bible every day taking great comfort from the passages. She loved her faith, lived her faith,
and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born in Castell, Texas on August 2,1921, to James and Bertha Liefeste, the hill country always held a
special place in Mildred's heart where so many of her relatives still live today. She moved to San
Antonio to attend Cosmetology School in 1939. She loved working at Charm Beauty Salon for 28 years
and was well known for giving great haircuts and perms. Mildred met John Hall in February 1948 and
they married on July 29, 1948. They were both active members in the Alamo Heights United
Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, was a member of the Altar
Society, and loved volunteering in the food program providing food for senior citizens. Mildred would
often share her trademark banana nut bread that always had that extra ingredient of love added. She
loved volunteering at AGAPE and being a member of the Red Hats Society where she met so many of
her dear friends. Even though she moved to The isle of Watermere Assisted Living in Southlake, Texas
in 2009 to be near her niece, Linda Mentemeyer, she still loved San Antonio and The Spurs. She was
so blessed to have so many friends who always sent her news clippings to keep her connected to her
Spurs. An avid sports watcher, she never missed watching and cheering for the Spurs, Cowboys, and
the Rangers.
Mildred is preceded in death by her dear husband of 53 years, John D. Hall; loving parents, James W.
Liefeste and Bertha Houy; in-laws Ralph Hall, William and Mary Hall, Cecil and Louise Hall Barber, and
Claude and Luciie Hall Grubbs; and grandnephew James Conroy. She is survived by her dear sister

LaBroad and husband Jim; Ludean Grubbs Parks and husband Rick; Cecil Barber and wife Debbie;

Mildred will always be remembered as a loving aunt and friend who always greeted everyone with a
hug, a kiss, and a kind word with a smile. Her family thanks the caring staff at The Harrison at
Heritage Trace in Ft. Worth for their incredible attention and compassion given to her and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Alamo Heights United Methodist Church
