

She was born on November 12, 1924, in Dukinfield, near Manchester, England to Emily Gibney and Frederick Rueben Turner.
Molly is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Francis Van Wicklen of San Antonio; sons and their families: Steven L. Van Wicklen, wife - Jeanette Van Wicklen, grandson - Luke Van Wicklen, Jackie and Billy Shoemaker of Austin and Matthew F. Van Wicklen, wife - Kaye Van Wicklen of Fair Oaks Ranch; sister, Valerie Irene Turner of Great Sankey near Warrington, England.
Molly was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Frederick Turner of Daresbury, England and granddaughter, Kaci Pollard Van Wicklen of Fair Oaks Ranch.
Molly was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire DBE in El Paso and San Antonio. She was the Recording Secretary of the Jane Austen chapter of San Antonio.
Mom loved animals, taking care of her plants, shopping and participating in DBE chapter activities as well as visiting with her grandson. Her beloved pets included her poodle Napoleon, her dachshund Ginger, her Dalmatians Katie, Hunter and Crombie and her Yorkies Benni and Nicki.
Mom leaves many dear friends in San Antonio, El Paso, California and England.
Molly and John met at Burtonwood AFB, England in 1955 and were married on March 31, 1956, at All Saints Church in Daresbury. She traveled extensively during her husband's service in the US Air Force - England, Germany, California, Montana, Pennsylvania and Texas. During their time in Germany, they visited most of Europe. They settled in San Antonio upon John's retirement and lived in El Paso for seven years before returning to San Antonio.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to her doctors Vijay Gunugantti, Thilo Burzlaff and Steven Talley as well as the nurses and staff of North Central and North East Baptist Hospitals, Heartland Rehab Center, Compass Hospital and the Odyssey Hospice.
