Nancy was born in January 1943, to Ray & Inez Fadness in Lisbon, ND. After graduating from Lisbon High School in 1961, Nancy went on to study History at North Dakota State University and Valley City State University.
After graduation, Nancy and some of her fellow graduates loaded up their cars and moved to California after being recruited to be elementary school teachers. She always spoke fondly about how much fun she had in the mid 1960’s in very vibrant southern California.
In 1968, Nancy married Byron Adams, going on to have two children, John, and Jackie. After their divorce, Nancy would move back to her hometown of Lisbon, ND, to open the Red Apple Daycare Center, enriching the lives of many children, before moving her family to Texas to go back into elementary teaching. She taught for 22 years at Palo Alto Elementary in San Antonio, TX before retiring in 2011.After retiring, Nancy actively volunteered at the Boysville Auxiliary Thrift Store, a group dedicated to serving the needs of the Boysville Children's Home. Her passion for helping children and her knowledge of unique antiques/items were put to good use, evidenced by her dedication of many of her afternoons spent there supporting the store. In 2023, Nancy was elected 1st Vice President of the Boysville Auxiliary. Just before she passed away, she was honored by Boysville as an Auxiliary Angel of the Year during a Gathering of Angels luncheon. It would be the last event she was able to attend before becoming very ill a few days later.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Ray and Inez Fadness, twin brothers, Rich Fadness and Rog Fadness, sister-in-law, Belinda Fadness. Nancy is survived by son, John Adams and his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Perrin; daughter, Jackie Bliss, and her husband Michael; sister-in-law, Joan Fadness (Rog); and Nancy’s beloved grand dogs, Pepper, and Bleu, who brought her so much daily joy.
