Sweet Nancy, This is Nancy! You trusted me many many times in your classroom for long term assignments! It was a gift that I appreciated for years to come! Your clear expectations and plans and your complete confidence in me keeping your kiddos learning in your absence was amazing! You allowed me to keep in contact with you when I had questions and treated me with such respect!  Thank you thank you! I wanted your family to know what an amazing woman you were and how you touched my life in a positive way! Nancy you were like that with your quiet warm gentle spirit!

I was so blessed to have married into such a loving and beautiful family. I cherished all the wonderful memories of getting to spend time with my sweet mother in law. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. She will be greatly missed by her son in law but I know in my heart that she is in a better place and one day she and I will meet again. Love you mama Cole to the moon and back.

As a teacher, counselor at Hopkins Elementary and a friend of Nancy's for many years, I am saddened by her passing which has left a void in the lives of many who knew and loved her.  Our friendship extended into many social occasions with she and Bob. My husband and I have many great memories of those times together.  She added much to the world in which she lived and while her physical presence will no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in our hearts.

Nancy Cole you will be deeply missed. My condolences to your family. You were such a kind and loving friend and colleague. I learned so much from you as a teacher and a mother. I am eternally grateful for the love you poured into my son as his first grade teacher. To this day he still has the best memories of the time he spent in your classroom. Rest in eternal peace my dear sweet friend.

Nancy was an amazing teacher & person with a very beautiful soul. I had the blessing of being her student in 2nd grade at Kirby Elementary. She was a guardian angel for me. I was a very shy introverted little girl who had also been going through some very hard family changes. Nanvy was such a gentle, patient, sincere loving teacher who whole heartedly loved her students. She was invested fully. I was blessed to journey through her life too. She married Bob during my time there & I also got to see her journey carrying Megan. She was all about Megan...she loved her way before her entry & oh, how proud of her she was. I started with her as Ms. Surma then Mrs. Cole.  She built confidence within me to blossom & thrive. She gifted me with my first book, Bedtime for Francis. I admired her, cherished her, & loved her. Most students move on, I was blessed to come back to her at Hopkins as her colleague and also had the blessing of her becoming my son's 1st grade teacher. How many people can say that? I'm apart of her legacy and am better from it. She was a very remarkable loving beautiful dedicated teacher, daughter, mother, wife, colleague, lady, & turned friend to me. I will forever cherish her and what she meant to me. Always know Nancy was an angel who walked among us and now is made whole again & pain free. One day I will see her again, I will be able to hug her once more, look upon her sweet & loving smile, & go down memory lane once more. I'm so sorry she has left us here, but we will reunite one day. Thank you for sharing Nancy with me.❤️🙏May the grace & mercy of our God surround her family and those that loved her.

I met Nancy when I began my teaching career at Kirby (Hopkins) Elementary. She was one of the first people that welcomed me and offered me help and guidance. I was part of the Friday happy hour group and remember when Nancy met Bob and brought him to meet us at Gallaghers. We were so excited that she had met her soulmate and the love of her life. A wedding followed and then came Megan. Nancy was a devoted and loving mother. She truly was an inspiration. Nancy was always so proper and composed. Then out of nowhere she would share a story that would have us all laughing to tears. I worked with Nancy my entire teaching career. She was one of the most caring teachers I have ever met. Her students loved her dearly. When I was diagnosed with  breast cancer, Nancy offered me advice and guidance. I will never forget how she made me feel strong and ready to fight. She lived a life that exemplified the strength of her faith. I know her faith gave her comfort in the end. I will treasure the friendship I had with her. May she rest in peace and dance with the angels.

Family and friends were everything to Nancy. Her laugh, generosity,  caring spirit, warmth, intelligence, and kindness were evident to everyone who knew her. I was fortunate enough to worked with Nancy early in my teaching career. She influenced me professionally and personally in so many positive ways. Luckily, our paths crossed again many years down the road a few times. Nancy gave me advice that helped me through a difficult time in my life when I was dealing with a difficult medical diagnosis.  She was someone who had  grace and a heart that was always reaching out to help others. I feel blessed to have been able to call Nancy my friend. My sincere sympathies and prayers go out to her family during this very difficult time.
