
Naomi DeBoe, passed peacefully from this life on September 20, 2001. She was 91. Naomi was a devout Christian and member of the Presbyterian Church throughout her life. She graduated from Maryville College in Tennessee in 1932 and later from Westminster Choir College. She traveled extensively as a choir member during her early years. In 1961, she and her husband, the late Dr. Cornelius DeBoe, Presbyterian Minister and Professor of Philosophy at Trinity University, moved to San Antonio where, in addition to being an Elder, she became Music Director of Northwood Presbyterian Church, a position she held for twelve years. She devoted a great deal of time and energy to charitable causes. Naomi is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jerry Garber, of San Antonio; grandsons, John D. Garber of San Antonio, and Captain Daniel D. Garber and his wife Yvette, of the Air Force Academy, Colorado; and a great-grandson, Mackintyre G. Garber, also of Colorado. Naomi was preceded in death by her son, David C. DeBoe.
