Mrs. Nellie Atwell Dyches, born December 19, 1921, in Augusta, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2001 in San Antonio. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, M. Sam Dyches; a sister, Mary Ann Douglas, Augusta, GA, a son, Buddy Dyches, Jr. and wife, Deborah, San Antonio; a daughter, Merlyn J. Bessent and husband, Jon, Austin, TX; and two grandchildren, James and Katherine Dyches. Nellie was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
