Nellie “Bubbles” Louise Mahler Duecker Wheeler, age 88, went home to be with her Lord on May 27, 2021, in San Antonio, TX. She was born in San Antonio, TX on July 10, 1932, to Henry and Ruby Mahler.
Bubbles was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Albert Duecker, Jr.; her second husband, Leonard F. Wheeler; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Duecker Davison (Ralston); sisters and brothers-in-law Catherine Naegelin (John) and Ruby Keil (Philip); son-in-law, Gene Hamer; sister-in-law, Joan Duecker Fryar; and brother-in-law Harry C. Lawson, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lee Duecker Hamer; sister-in-law Evelyn Duecker Lawson; brother-in-law Lambert H. Fryar, Jr.; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Bubbles worked at USAA for 32 years and volunteered her time with the Texas Office of Court Administration during her retirement. She will be greatly missed.
The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park.
