Nikki Baker, age 42, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 8, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born September 26, 1981 in Orem, Utah to Janice Irene Day and Brian Gary Wright. Nikki was an earnest and faithful spirit; a beloved daughter, wife, and mother; and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Though her light will be sorely missed, her legacy continues on.
Nikki served the Lord on her mission in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Spanish-speaking missionary, she developed a love for the Hispanic people, culture, and food that endured throughout her life. She attended first Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho), then Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies. There she met her soon-to-be husband of 16 years, Marcus Brian Baker. The couple married in 2007 for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
Nikki is survived by her husband, Mark Baker; their three children, Evelyn, Callen, and Benjamin; her parents, Brian and Janice Wright; sister, Tabitha Franklin; and brothers, Erik Wright & Alex Wright.
Nikki will be remembered for her love of her family, her artistic and musical talents, and her faith, strength, and resilience in the face of hardship. As one who so readily felt close to her ancestors who came before, she has joined them at last in eternal rest.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2024 in the Relief Society room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Knights Cross.
