She was born in Sanderson to Francisco and Gudelia Lopez on August 5, 1933.
Nieves is preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Gudelia Lopez; sisters Gudelia Lopez and Tomasa Perez; brothers Francisco Jr. and Guadalupe Lopez, and nephew Carlos Lopez.
Nieves is survived by her nieces and nephews, Enriqueta Garza (Lupe), Ernestina Flores (Chago), Oscar F. Lopez (Gloria), Rosalinda Luevano (Abel), George Lopez (Letty), Patricia Gonzalez, Doris Lopez (Joe), and Monica Martinez. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews across four generations.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM followed by a service for Nieves.
