

After serving for the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he completed his studies in Geology and Math, receiving his degree from St Mary's University in 1959. His career in the Petroleum Industry gave him the opportunity to work all over the world: including Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Algeria, Paraguay, Equatorial Guinea, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, and Papua New Guinea.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara Lopez, Emma Parra and Francis Pruneda; and brother, Pedro Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, Martha G. Garcia; son, Noah Garcia (Maria); daughters; Marta G. Fernandez and Margot G. Abundis, M.D. (Carlos II), grandchildren; Christian, Monica, Arielle, Bianca, Isabella, Anna Sophia, Carlos III; sister, Isabel G. Marroquin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
