
Shortly following her graduation from Fredericksburg High School in 1946, she attended nursing school at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin Tx. and studied at The University of Texas to complete a three year program for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1950.
Mrs. Taylor worked as a nurse at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Kerrville, Tx during the 1950's and graduated from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Tx with an additional year to her BSN in 1958.
While working in Kerrville, she met and married John F. Taylor April 11, 1959. Following their marriage, she resided in San Antonio and attended to her husband's mother & aunts.
As a member of the John Birch Society since 1967, she volunteered and eventually managed the American Opinion Bookstore in San Antonio for 30 years until 2003. She was a true American patriot who cherished our country's liberty. Together with her husband John, they educated themselves about the U.S. Constitution, America's rich heritage, and promoted conservative political views while believing that with "less government, more responsibility, and with God's help a better world."
She touched many lives with her political knowledge, believing that people should actively shoulder their civic responsibility to educate themselves about political truths.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Ruby Priess, brother Udo Barsch, niece Sandra Tolbert, and brother-in-law Edward Taylor.
She is survived by her niece Peggy Hedrick and husband John of Boerne, great nephews Jacob & Zachary Hedrick, great niece Susan Thate of Amarillo, great-great niece Lindsay Thate, and brother-in-law Elias Priess of Fredericksburg.
