

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Amancio L. Ivarra; parents, Julio and Francisca Alvarado and brothers, Enrique Alvarado, Telesforo Alvarado and Raul Alvarado and son in law, Thomas Skilling.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Skilling; grandchildren, Michael Leo Skilling (Nicole) and Matthew Thomas Skilling; great grandchildren, Michael Rene Skilling and Lilliana Melody Salais; sisters, Emma Benavides of San Antonio, Texas; Irma & Cecil Balzen of Campbell, California; Rose Mary & Manuel Llanes of Lakewood Ranch, Florida and brothers, Salvador & Emma Alvarado of Uvalde, Texas; Edward & Mary Alvarado of Brawley, California, Robert & Mayela Alvarado of Uvalde, Texas and Julio & Juanita Alvarado of Grand Saline, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ofelia loved to paint and create quilts, she would often visit the Starving Artist shows and other artist shows to sell her creations. She studied cosmetology obtaining her license and worked at many beauty shops. She then owned and operated Ofelia’s Hair Fashions.
