“A great life" describes the journey of Onofre A. Garcia who passed away on March 18, 2025 at 90 years of age. Onofre was lovingly referred to as “Ony” or "O.A." by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Angel M. Garcia and Maria de los Angeles (Angelita) Adame Garcia, sister, Michaella, three brothers Raymond, Tito and Larry Garcia. Onofre joins his beautiful wife Maria del Carmen Flores Garcia who passed in 2016 and his grandson Edgar Isaac Garcia who passed in 2022. Onofre is survived by his older brother Joe, younger brother, Jesse, three children Onofre A. Garcia, Jr. (wife Aleida), Melissa Garcia Trevino (husband Gene), and Edgar Javier Garcia (wife Alicia), five grandchildren Christina, Harley, Genessa, Andrew, Juan Carlos, and ten great-grandchildren with two on their way. Onofre, with his six brothers and one sister, was raised by a single-father who was widowed in 1943. Raised in modest beginnings and being instructed to live a life to honor God, Onofre served in the Air Force, was honorably discharged, and continued his passion with aviation and serving his country by beginning his career at Kelly AFB as an Aircraft Sheet-Metal Worker. Onofre was continuously contributing to the Airforce through ideas he had resulting in parts manufactured, the restoration of warped Torus Assemblies, correcting distorted alignments, etc. Onofre was always discovering and finding ways to correct or improve the aircrafts he was working on (or not working on) resulting in formal recognition. Onofre retired with a very good reputation in 1990 as a foreman. Once retired, Onofre enjoyed spending time with his wife, improving his house, playing guitar, listening to music, cooking, assembling model airplanes, keeping in contact with his friends, and dining with family. People were drawn to his kindness, generosity, and his chivalry. Always humble, Onofre was a devout family man. A man of integrity and honor, stoic and proud. He was highly respected amongst his peers. Onofre radiated goodness and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as he touched so many lives, now he lays to rest, and is reunited with his beautiful bride for eternity.
