

Oralia “Lala” Forey, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and wela, age 88, returned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on February 8, 1935, in Salineno, Texas; the youngest child of seven to parents Domingo and Paula Garcia.
Oralia “Lala” is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Juan Forey and by her six siblings; Gilberto, Nicolasa, Abel, Juan Manuel, Martin L., and Aguinaldo.
She is survived by her loving children John “Fernie” (Tammy), Rosie (David), and Jerry (Yvonne); Her dog-companion for sixteen years, Eva; Grandchildren Gene, Alyssa (George), Jared (Amaris), and Jordan; Great-grandchildren Falon, Farah, Jayde, Avery, Rylan, and Avaya.
Oralia “Lala” was known for her warm heart. She expressed in abundance her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends through her flavorful homemade food, desserts, and hand-made quilts. Lala was a woman of many passions including baking cakes, gardening, and quilting.
She served her community as a Food-Service worker on the south-side of San Antonio for Harlandale ISD and Palo Alto College for many years.
Lala was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was kind and passionate, making an unforgettable impression on everyone she met. She was loved by all and cherished by many. Our mother, grandmother, and wela will forever be missed.
A visitation for Oralia “Lala” Forey will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A mass will occur Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1918 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 with a committal service at 2:00 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, TX 78209.
