As a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, Oscar knew exactly what he wanted to do in life. He spent his life caring for others, dedicating time and effort to those in need, and graduated from the Baptist Nursing Program to become a Registered Nurse. He dedicated 30+ years of his life to nursing and even received multiple Top Recognition of Patient Satisfaction Awards and Nurse of the Quarter. One of his most crowning achievements was coordinating and organizing 70 live donor transplants which is a first for the largest Living Donor Program in the U.S.
In his down time when not working, he loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play. His favorite team of all time, no matter whether they won or lost a game, he was always cheering them on! When not watching the Cowboy’s, Oscar would be listening to the “Queen of Tejano”, Selena while dancing his heart out or cheering on his children and grandchildren in many extra curricular activities.
Oscar is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Oscar L. Nava Sr., Mary Y. Nava, and sister Mary Ellen Donahue.
He is survived in passing by his loving wife Delia A. Nava; children Oscar L. Nava III, Pamela N. Rinche (husband, Rodney), Yvonne N. Guerrero (husband, Israel), Yvette N. Ueckert (wife, Spencer); grandchildren, Oscar A. Nava, Damien A. Nava, Reid T. Rinche, Alianna I. Rinche, Donovan G. U. Gilbert; and great-grandchild, Vada E. Nava.
