Patricia L. Bradley (“Pat”), age 81 passed away October 26, 2014 knowing that she would soon be reunited in Heaven with Jim, her husband of 50 years. Pat was born in Hollywood, California to parents Hans and Lucretia Koenekamp. She was a proud graduate of UCLA, serving as staff writer on the yearbook and a member of one of the many campus sororities. Her support to the UCLA Alumni Association was still thriving until her last days. Pat was ahead of her time. She demonstrated an independence that was rare for a female in the late 1950’s. She took a job with the Red Cross and was assigned to Korea to work during war efforts. This work was one her proudest accomplishments. When she returned, Pat worked in the film industry as an Executive Secretary and at one point filled in as a hand model for a soap commercial. Pat also worked as a teacher, where she enjoyed working with special needs children of all ages. In 1963 Patricia met Jim Bradley who would soon become her husband. They married in 1964, raised two children, and built a life together that would last for half a century.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband James D. Bradley. She is survived by her two children: Phillip Bradley and wife Shellie and Michelle (Bradley) Drobot and husband Glenn; two grandchildren, Bix and Brooke Bradley.
The Funeral Service will be at 12:30pm on Monday, November 3rd, 2014 at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock, San Antonio, TX 78240. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Patricia L. Bradley to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
Also addressed as “Tricia” by her husband and business associates, she worked for approximately 25 years as the Office Manager for American Engineering and was an integral part to the success of this business. She was a woman of true grit. Her mind was sharp, literally until the last hours of her life. She valued her family and relished in the fact that they could be there to support her. Her will to do everything and not complain about her health struggles is something that all who knew her will take with them.
