Patricia "Pat" Rogers Sammis

Pat was predeceased in death by husbands Alfred Lowrey and William Sammis, MD, as well by son, Mark Lowrey.

Pat is survived by children Leslie Neilson, Margaret Groos, Patricia E. (Genie) and Steve Taylor, and Scott and Tana Lowrey. Grandchildren: Natalie and Kenny Swann, Grace Neilson Norris, Cuatro and Alicia Groos, Caleb and Katy Groos, Hannah and Zach Riemenschneider, Jamie and Marcus Sykes, Emily Taylor and Jacob Lewis, James Farrell, Lanha and Dallas Galvan, Kyli Lowrey and Tyloor Shippman, Skie Lowrey. Great grandchildren: Carsten Gross, Gwyneth Groos, Maisy Groos, Sophia Groos, Eloise Groos, Clara Groos, Julian Sykes, Oliver and Charles Riemenschneider, Denver Galvan, and Millee Shippman.

Pat graduated from Incarnate Word High School, studied at McNay Art Institute and received her BA in Education from Trinity University in 1976. Pat taught first grade at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Elementary School for 15 years. In 1996, she graduated from Oblate Seminary with a Master’s of Theology. Pat served as the Catholic Chaplain and led the Eucharistic Ministry for Baptist Hospital, downtown San Antonio, for 19 years.

Pat was a creative, kind, loving and beautiful soul. She never lost her lovely, infectious smile and will be greatly missed.
