

Patrick Ross Bailey, age 68, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, after bravely battling cancer for three and a half years. Pat was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Eleanor Partlow and Bernie Bailey- a career Air Force officer. Along with his older brother, Scott, and his twin brother, Mike, the family relocated several times including to Nicaragua and to Laredo, finally settling in San Antonio. Pat graduated from Roosevelt High School. Following graduation, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, and received a bachelor's degree in Business. While at UT, Pat was introduced to his future bride, Josie, by his college roommate, Ken Bueche. After spending time in the business industry, Pat became a special education teacher. He truly believed he found his calling in this field. One of his favorite activities was working with the Special Olympics and seeing the excitement and joy it brought the participants. Pat was a true family man- a devoted husband and father. He was happiest attending his sons baseball games, his daughters dance performances and taking the family on road trips. He was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hiking, and camping. Playing tennis and golf with his brother Mike was a favorite activity. Pat was very patriotic- having been inspired by his father, an Air Force pilot during WWII. Pat never missed an opportunity to attend air shows with his family and could tell you facts of almost every aircraft. He was exceptionally great with animals. He had a special place in his heart and was gentle and loving to all pets and animals in the wild. Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor; father, Bernie; and older brother, Scott. Pat is survived by his wife, Josie; son, Eric and wife, Crystal with grandson, Ian; daughter, Emily; brother, Mike and wife, Angie; sister-in-law, PJ and many beloved nieces and nephews.
