He was a 1956 graduated of Fordham University; he earned a Masters Degree from the University of Louisville Kentucky in Research & Psychology and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Trinity University. Patrick had a 35-year career with the U.S. Government including a military career and research at Brooks AFB, which included training astronauts in overcoming motion sickness. He was the last living founder of the Harp and Shamrock Society of Texas and was a member of the Beethoven Maennerchor and American Legion Alamo Post #2; a board member emeritus of St. Peter St. Joseph Childrens Home and was chairman of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Commission for 35 years.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 24 years, Virginia Mary Dowd of San Antonio, TX; brothers, James J. Dowd of San Antonio, TX and Frank J. Dowd and wife Irene of Rockaway, New York; nephews, Francis J. Dowd and Kevin P. Dowd and wife Caroline; nieces, Mary Kate Corbett and husband John and Eileen Lutz all of New York City, New York.
