Patrick Powers Thomas

Beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Born Shreveport, LA September 13, 1933 to Dewey and Marjorie Thomas. Departed San Antonio, TX October 10, 2017. Graduated Shreveport Jesuit High 1951, Colorado School of Mines 1955, and St. Mary’s School of Law 1968. Commissioned 2nd LT U.S. Army Engineers in 1956, served in France and in Lebanon during the 1958 Civil War. Met then-Capt. U.S. Army Genevieve Zahn in France where they were married in both French civil (required by French law) and U.S. military ceremonies on December 28, 1958.

Petroleum Engineer with Humble Petroleum in West Texas, Attorney-at-Law in private practice and with Tesoro Petroleum and Taco Cabana in San Antonio, Texas. Member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Texas Bar Association.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 59 years Genevieve of San Antonio, TX, brother John P. Thomas of Shreveport, LA, son Patrick Andrew and granddaughter Caroline Thomas of Frisco, TX, niece Lynne Zachariah of Potomac, MD and nephew John Thomas of Niceville, FL. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, LA.
