Patsy was born in San Antonio to Mary Elizabeth Banks and Lester Edmond Sales on March 19, 1943. She married “her Marine” Joe Emil Kristek on November 12, 1960 in San Antonio. When asked how they met, she would say Joe came into the Double Dip ice cream parlor, took her hand, and that was it. They were married for 65 years.
Patsy never met a stranger. She always had a friendly smile everywhere she went. Her eyes would light up any room and she radiated joy. Patsy loved to laugh, sing, and dance. Music always touched her soul.
She loved her family. She was blessed with 8 brothers and sisters, two daughters whom she cherished, two beautiful grandchildren, and two joyful great grandchildren all whom she delighted in.
Patsy was an amazing artist, painting and drawing many masterpieces that we will cherish forever. She loved fishing with the family, spending time with her brothers and sisters, outings with her girls, and seeing her grandchildren and their growing families. Other hobbies she and Joe shared over the years were eating out on Fridays, BINGO at the Church, and singing to each other “it’s true, everything I do, I do it for you”. She was a great cook and an amazing baker. She taught us everything needs to be made from scratch when at all possible.
Most importantly, Patsy loved Jesus and her Catholic faith. Going to Mass with her was a beautiful experience as you could visibly see the love she had for Christ when she prayed, sang, and received the eucharist. It was this love that gave her the ability to handle everything in her life with grace. She forgave quickly, loved fiercely, and prayed unceasingly.
