
Paul Hugh Aldridge of San Antonio passed away on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the age of 87. He was born October 2, 1919 in Newsome, Texas to Tommie Winkle and Demas Martin Aldridge and grew up in Greenville, Texas.
During World War II, he served with the 98th Bomb Group as a Technical Sergeant and flight engineer aboard B-24 Liberator bombers in the European Theater, including several missions over Ploesti, Romania. Following his discharge in 1945, he served in the Naval Reserve until 1952.
He worked in Civil Service in numerous locations around the country on missile projects, retiring from Kelly Air Force Base in 1980. He was a Master Mason and member of Blue Bonnet Masonic Lodge #1219.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, sister and his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean Aldridge.
He is survived by his son, Gary Paul Aldridge and wife, Sharron; daughter, Nancy Torgerson and husband, Vernon Torgerson of San Antonio, and his grandsons, Coast Guard Petty Officer Justin Paul Aldridge, and wife, Shanyn, currently of Yorktown, Virginia, and Steven Michael Aldridge of Orlando, Florida, great grandsons, Hunter and Cody of Yorktown, Virginia and brother-in-law, Billy Samples. He is also survived by grandsons Darrell Torgerson and wife, Chris of San Antonio; Jeff Torgerson and wife, Vicki of Austin; great grandchildren: Brooke, Elizabeth, Matthew, Kathleen, Grace Torgerson and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank Yolanda Garcia for her loving care and devotion. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
